Parking near Crow Orchard Primary School |
||
|
Good afternoon,
This is just a message to alert local residents who have children who attend Crow Orchard Primary School to be mindful of where they park when dropping off and picking up their children.
The main entrance to the school needs to remain clear at all times and there must be enough room on the road for emergency vehicle access. Parents/ guardians dropping off and/ or picking up their kids must ensure that they don't block local residents' driveways or public footpaths, e.g. pavements, as this creates frustration for residents needing to leave and drive out of their estate, and puts people at risk (especially those in mobility scooters or wheelchairs) when they are having to go off the pavement and onto the road.
Generally speaking, we have had reports from some local residents expressing their frustrations concerning their driveways being blocked for an excessive amount of time and on repeated occasions, and also general inconsiderate parking on pavements making it difficult for residents/ pedestrians to commute.
Police will be showing a presence outside the school at the start of the new term in January 2026. If anyone is seen to be blocking people's driveways, or causing obstructions to public footpaths then words of advice will be given and the driver will be told to move their car.
Police are liaising with the school on this ongoing issue. Whilst we appreciate that the colder winter weather is now approaching, and some parents, guardians or children may have restricted mobility, there is no excuse for people to be blocking residents' driveways or public footpaths. We encourage parents/ guardians to park responsibly.
